What is iOS? Why it’s So Popular?

When the word “App” comes, the first thing that clicks to user’s mind is iOS devices (iPhone, iPod and iPads) launched by Apple. From then Apps and the branding platform iOS have become inseparable. And, in last few years, the iOS (iPhone, iPod and iPad) App Store has met a new landmark and is offering everything any business be it start-up or big brand needs. According to Statista in July 2015 – Apple’s App Store has approx. 1.5 million available apps.

Apple’s iOS is operating system that easily runs on the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad. Developed for multi-touch interaction, iOS allows users to do everything through touch gesturing – a revolutionised technology that Apple has excelled. iOS provides an array of actions including swiping, pulling, pinching, and tapping, which enables users to leverage landscape modes as well. Recently, Apple devices has also launched a few pioneering gestures including gyroscopes and accelerometers. Apple’s these gestures allow users to flawlessly change the orientation of apps apart from providing the direct control that is given by simply tilting the devices.

This increase in number of apps across the App Store marketplace, resulted in business focusing on mobile apps for earning revenue and run their business methodologies and processes impeccably.
