Earlier this week, Oppo released the first official teaser of its upcoming F15 smartphone. At the time, the device which will succeed the popular F11 series of phones was announced to be launched soon.
Now we finally have a date of launch for Oppo F15. Oppo has sent out a new teaser which not only reveals a January 16 launch date for the F15 but also takes the lid off some key specs of the device.
The teaser shows the device will sport 8GB of RAM, a 48-megapixel quad-camera set-up, an under-display fingerprint sensor, and VOOC Flash Charge 3.0 support. Also, Oppo has also revealed a new image of the device which gives another glimpse into what the design of the phone could be like.
Previously, the company had claimed that the F15 is expected to redefine the standards of design making. As per the reports about the phone on the web, the phone is also expected to feature a pop-up camera on the front and as a result a notch-less AMOLED display. The camera set-up on the device could be a quad lens setup as this is also a popular feature on the OPPO Reno smartphones.
Earlier, the OPPO F11 Pro was launched with a notch-less display and dual-camera setup, while the regular F11 brought a waterdrop display. Both the OPPO F11 phones were powered by a Helio P70 SoC with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage.
The Oppo F11 Pro comes with a 6.5-inch full HD+ LCD display with no bezels at all. In terms of the camera, the Oppo F11 Pro features a dual-camera setup with a 48MP and a 5MP camera at the back. In the front, the F11 Pro features a 16MP motorised pop-up camera. It is powered by a gigantic 4,000mAh battery with support for Quick Charge 3.0.
While we don’t know what the specs of the F15 would be like, the expectation is that the phone will maintain certain design elements while improving at the same time on core specs to ensure that the phone can truly emerge as an upgrade on the F11 series.
