2021 Future Technology Trends Predictions – Of Autonomous Cars & Artificial Intelligence

Technology trends for ages was preserved by the Universities and the research institutions. In this age of globalized economy, we see that there is an unprecedented invasion of changes in the social, economical and the technological areas.

The technology trends will reshape the way, we do business in the future. A few years back, things like the holograms, virtual reality, and the self-driving cars were just a figment of our imagination. Only in a matter of the last few years,  we see that technology is growing at a breathtaking pace. We hear about the smart wearables and the smart gadgets and of course, we hear about Elon Musk, planning a colonization of Mars. We will be directing our discussions more, on the future technological trends, that will happen between now and 2020. The next phase of innovations in our business and personal lives is to be shaped by technology, acting as a catalyst.

2021 Future Technology Trends Predictions

Following are some of these future technology trends:

  • Advancement in 3D Printing
  • Self-Driving cars
  • Wearables and everything computing
  • Fully developed IOT systems
  • Impact of Artificial Intelligence
  • Robotic Workforce
  • The Rise of AR/VR/MR

1. Advancement in 3D Printing

The 3D Printing is termed as the third wave of industrial revolution. This imparts power to people, to produce anything they want. We have started thinking in terms of 3D Printing of your household utensils, even 3D Printing, your favorite dinner dishes. The concept is about mass production of factory products. Organs are rarely available for transplant and the 3D Printing of the organs is a giant step in this direction.

2. Self-Driving Cars

Google emerges as one of the most popular names in the area of self-driving cars. Autonomous vehicles are also undertaken by companies like General Motors, Tesla, and Daimler. However, so far there is someone available to take care of a situation, for anything that goes wrong. The challenge ahead is to resolve any difficulties that may occur. 2020 will see the emergence of an ultimate level, with the fully robotic driver.

3. Wearables and Everything Computing

Wearables are focussed mostly in the area of fitness. Some of the applications for the wearables is to keep a count of the steps taken, tracking the heart rate and tracking the fitness data. Wearables are working in divergent areas such as those tracking your blood sugar levels and the interactive t-shirts. A smartwatch is a wearable that poses as a device for making a call as well a navigating the city.

4. Fully developed IoT (Internet Of Things) systems

IoT forms the basis of the next industrial revolution. We will see that there is an invasion of smart everything in our lives, the smart homes and offices, smart cities with smart power grids and above all the smart cars. By 2020, we intend to see 50 billion interconnected objects. The homeowners will be able to control everything in their homes, from lighting right up to the temperature.

Experts predict that by 2020, over 50 billion ‘things’ (physical objects) will be interconnected.

5. Impact of Artificial Intelligence

The technology companies are making artificial Intelligence smarter. Google has come up with Allo, a smart messaging app that tells, not only what to reply to a message, along with other useful contextual information like nearest restaurants and the movie listings.

6. Robotic Workforce

We see robots everywhere, replacing the workforce at low cost and greater operational efficiency. The human workforce will dwindle in numbers, by the year 2020. We will view the robots, even in the fast food chains and the restaurants.

One Chinese factory replaced 60,000 workers with robots. In the United States, more and more factories are opting for robots instead of human workers as they pursue cost cuts and higher operational efficiency.

As industrial robots take over human jobs there is concern over what it means for the financial health of families and the economic status of countries. Some experts propose a basic guaranteed income for everyone.

Whatever happens, it will be an interesting time to be alive.

7. The Rise Of AR/VR/MR At The Expense Of Smartphones & Computers

Today’s VR and AR devices are clunky with short battery lives and some, a necessity to remain tethered to a computer. By 2020, VR/AR products will be lighter and more powerful.

The implications will be world-changing. Design, whether for architects or engineers, will become much easier and more realistic. Learning will be transformed as students are able to explore virtual bodies or attend a virtual classroom. Travel will no longer be the costly and time-consuming thing it is today since you will be able to explore faraway museums and attractions without leaving your couch.

An even bigger impact will be the death of smartphones and computers. Virtual and augmented reality devices can do a lot of things your smartphone or PC does; communicate with people, browse the internet, shop, watch videos, edit images, design, prepare documents and so on.

Conclusion

The years till 2020 are but just a beginning of the revolution that is to come. By the time we hit 20150, the world as we know it will have completely transformed hopefully for the better.
